A quick discussion about the importance of eyebrows...

I have been wanting to write a post for a long time about how important eyebrows are to a person's total appearance.  The shape of your brows can made you look older, younger, meaner, nicer, more surprised, etc.  Depending on how far or close your eyebrows are to the bridge of your nose, it may look larger or smaller in comparison to your other features.  Brows should never look like commas, sperm, triangles or other crazy shapes (see chart below).  Please only tweeze stray hairs as needed and if you over plucked when you were young, fill in those brows!  Once you see how big a difference your brows can make, you will understand my rant.  I promise I will add a brow tutorial here sometime soon. That is all:)

Drugstore Finds

Beauty products do not have to be pricey to work well.  I wanted to share a couple products I am using all the time these days, all of which you can pick up at your favorite drugstore.

The first is L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes mascara.  I have been a huge fan of the original Voluminous formula for years now, but wanted to try this out when I saw it.  This mascara contains little fibers that not only help to elongate lashes, but also adds volume (I personally have long lashes naturally, but I tend to purchase volumizing formulas to add some thickness).  This mascara makes it looks like you are wearing false lashes without the hassle of the application and the heavy/pokey feeling you may have experienced in the past if you have worn them.  Another pro is that it is pretty easy to remove, unlike some mascaras that leave you dousing your eyes in makeup removed and STILL you are left with dark circles and smudges.  I would recommend this if you like thicker looking lashes and want a good product for a steal (less than $10!).

The second product I picked up on a whim, as I was randomly in the mood for a plum/wine lip color. Since this is not a color I generally wear, I grabbed Neutrogena's MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Rich Raisin.  This lip product provides good color pay off (more than a tint, but still more sheer than a regular lipstick) and feels very smooth and hydrating.  The product is shaped like a big crayon (with a pre-sharpened tip) and when you need more product, you simply turn the dial on the bottom of the applicator (kind of like a Chapstick).  It also smells really good!  This product comes in a somewhat limited variety of colors, but the range includes shades that would compliment many skin tones.  Another one worth a try in my book:)

Please ignore my horrendous nail polish that needs to be removed!

Product Review: Cor Silver Soap

Those of you who follow my tips on Facebook probably already saw my rave about this product, but I thought it would be good to do a more in depth review on this product.
About a month ago, my skin was not looking so hot. I am talking about acne, inflammation, discoloration (post-acne scarring), etc.  I purchased the Clairsonic Deep Pore Cleansing Kit (which includes the Clairsonic brush and a deep cleaning face wash), praying it would help.  After using that for a couple weeks, my skin worsened.  I was told by the salesperson at Bloomindgales that this is actually normal, but I was not about to wait for another month to go by with my skin looking as it did.
After using Clairsonic for a week, about to see my dermatologist.

After using Silver Soap for a week, you can see  the tone of my skin looks much healthier and my acne is clearing up.

By chance, the Cor Silver Soap was recommended to me by a salesperson at a store in Dallas.  I am telling you, every salesperson at the counter had AMAZING skin and contributed it to this soap.  Being that my skin is super sensitive and acneic, I was skeptical, but thought I would give it a try. The Silver Soap contains silver, which is antimicrobial, so it helps treat and heal acne.  The ingredients also include jojoba oil, avocado oil, aloe, Vitamin A and E, and Hyaluronic Acid, which all aid in keeping skin moisturized and toned.  I bought the smallest size soap that Cor (http://www.corsilver.com) offers (.34 oz for $15). When using this soap, you wet your hands, create a lather using the soap bar, and apply to your skin.  You can vary the amount of time you leave the lather on, depending on the condition of your skin.  I am telling you, since I have started using this product, my skin has cleared up so much.  I hate to call anything a miracle product, but this is pretty darn awesome.  I would definitely recommend Cor Silver Soap if you are in search of a good, well-rounded, one-step product.  As a side note, you should store this soap in a dry place, as it lathers very easily and quickly, which may cause it to disappear pretty quick if you accidentally leave it in the shower.
This is the Silver Soap and its package:)

Welcome!
